‘GTA III’ WAS RELEASED IN 2001 HOWEVER DUE TO THE 9/11 TERRORIST ATTACKS, ROCKSTAR HAD TO MAKE SOME CHANGES TO THE GAME.
Many missions were modified or omitted and even a character called Darkel had to be cut from the game. However, Rockstar has stated that only about 1% of the game was actually cut.
